Hi Lori. I am considering running the Disney marathon on Jan 8th, 2013. How crowded do you think the parks will be the week after? I have three children under five and I don't want to do Disney if the parks will be extremly busy with post-marathon guests

Hi Gretchen!  The Disney marathon in 2013 is the 20th anniversary marathon, so it will be even more special and magical than ever!  It will actually be held on January 13, 2013.  Because this second Sunday of January falls a little later than normal, I actually think the parks will be less crowded as a result of that.  Once children are back in school, the park crowd levels really go down,  Personally, I think it would be a great week to explore the parks and a wonderful way to celebrate the marathon!  You can go to www.touringplans.com to look at an estimated crowd calendar for the Disney parks.  You can see 30 days in advance for free, but can join the site to see a full year.  I use it all the time when planning my vacations and also helping friends plan for theirs.  It is not a Disney-owned site, but it has proven to be extremely accurate in crowd predictions.
I hope this helps!  I hope to see you at the marathon in January!
