Lori, we are coming back to WDW for Marathon 2014. My husband is crazy to try to do the Dopey. Our question is our girls are 6 and 8. Would they be ok run/walking the 5k with us or do you think they are too young. Thanks

    Hi Katie!

Oh, the Dopey!  RunDisney has us all questioning our sanity!  This year's marathon was my first full, so I was going to be Goofy next year, but now I hear Dopey calling my name:)

For the 5K, I think your girls will be fine!  My boys did the 5K with me around the same age and loved it.  (they still love it!)  It's a very laid back race.  You will probably want to have them train a little, depending on their activity level, but definitely don't stress them out.  My boys both play soccer, so I don't make them go any further than a mile or two on our "training" runs/walks.  The race day excitement will get them to the finish line!

It's a great family race, and the perfect way to start off your husband's Dopey weekend!

Please let me know if you have any other questions.
