Hi Kimberly and welcome to planDisney! Thank you for reaching out to us as you prepare for a visit to the Happiest Place on Earth.
It sounds like you are busy planning for your upcoming visit and searching the
Theme Park Reservation Availability Calendar prior to purchasing your tickets. That's a great place to start so that you know if the dates you are hoping to visit are indeed available to make reservations.
As you noticed, there is a different reservation availability calendar for 1 Park Per Day Ticket Guests and Park Hopper Ticket Guests. On the calendar, the icons displayed show which park is available to reserve for the day. On the 1 Park Per Day Ticket Guest Calendar, you choose one park to enter for the day. For the Park Hopper Ticket Guest Calendar, you choose which park to begin your day. After 1:00 p.m. you are free to hop between Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park until the parks close for the day.
If you decide to purchase the Park Hopper Ticket and the Park Hopper Ticket reservation availability calendar shows the Disney California Adventure Park icon (it looks like a green Ferris wheel with a Mickey shape in the middle), that indicates that you may select California Adventure as your starting park for that day.
I hope that clears up any confusion as you prepare for your visit! And since you'll be heading to Disney California Adventure Park during the
Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival, you may enjoy checking it out. The festival brings with it the limited-time return of the fan-favorite
Soarin' Over California attraction as well as festival marketplaces serving up fresh California cuisine and specialty beverages. There are also some event-exclusive entertainment and family-friendly activities to enjoy.
I hope you have a magical time at the Disneyland Resort! Please visit planDisney again if you have any more questions as you count down to your vacation.
See ya real soon!
