Ahoy there Kerrianne. Welcome back to planDisney. We’re thrilled you’re back with more questions for us.
The drinking age on Disney cruise ships, as well as
Castaway Cay and
Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, is 21. However, there are some exceptions to this policy: during round-trip cruises departing from any European country that has a lower drinking age or repositioning cruises between Hawai'i and Australia, a Beverage Consent Form can be signed by a parent or guardian that allows their 18- to 20-year-old children to consume alcoholic beverages while in the adult’s presence. Also, during round-trip cruises from Sydney, Melbourne, Auckland and Brisbane, Guests 18 years of age and older may purchase and consume alcoholic beverages without parental consent.
As a parent of an 18-year-old myself, I’m looking forward to taking him to adult-exclusive areas on our upcoming cruise. My son is looking forward to dining at
Palo Steakhouse and
Enchanté, as well as relaxing in Serenity Bay. Also, be sure to check out the 1820 Society while onboard. Disney Cruise Line hosts gatherings for young adults ages 18-20 years old. Activities may include trivia, silent disco dance party, and miniature golf. Once you’re onboard, you can check the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator App for details on these fun 1820 Society gatherings.
If you have more trip-planning questions for us, Kerrianne, please feel free to stop by
planDisney again. We’re happy to help!
Bon voyage,
Kiki
