Hi lookingat animal kingsom resort to stay, the savannha rooms are out of budget. Can you give me more information on the other room types including view and also any location info of whre a good room request could be.

    Hello, Tracy!

Our first stay at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge was in a Standard Room, with Standard View, at Jambo House. I recommend that you ask for a room closest to the lobby or, at least, an elevator. This will ensure that your walk from the pool, lobby and restuarants to your room will be shorter than it would be otherwise. If a Standard Room with Pool View is within your budget (it's just ten dollars more than a standard view at the time of this writing) consider requesting one of those, too.

Keep in mind that there are views of multiple savannahs as you walk through the hallways and lobby at AKL, so you'll have great, up-close access to the animals as soon as you step out your door.

For a better understanding of the resort layout, go to the unoffical site, allears.net, and search "Animal Kingdom Lodge map." There, you'll get a birds-eye view of this beautiful, exotic gem and will be able to see why proximity to the lobby / pool or elevators should be your first request, should a Savannah View not be on your list.

Please send more questions about this resort, or any other aspect of your trip to Walt Disney World! I love to help!
