I am looking to take my 10 year old son to Disney World the week of Thanksgiving 2016. I realize this is a peak time but due to school and his age we must visit during break. Is there still time to book the trip, dining, etc?

Hi Shelly! Thanksgiving time is indeed a popular time for a Disney visit but it is also one of the best times when children won't have to miss many days of school. It is actually one of my favorite times and our own family will be there this year.

I am glad you are asking about this now as it is time to get going. Advanced dining reservations are open in the next few days. Quickly check out all the Park and Resort dining options and start selecting. Make sure you have your resort room reservation linked to you on your My Disney Experience Account.  You can make dining reservations 180 days from your resort check-in date and they will go quickly for this holiday week so check immediately when you can book. You can either call 407-WDW-DINE or on line through your My Disney Experience or through the Disney website, www.disneyworld.com.

Try to get something booked for every day of your trip. If you choose not alter your plans down the line you can cancel but it is very difficult to pick up a reservation closer to a holiday so don't delay. You might not get your first choice of resorts or restaurants but I can assure you that Disney offers so many wonderful ones that you will be happy no matter where you go.
