Hi there, Carlene!
Thanks so much for checking in :)
You raise a legitimate concern about the week of 12/15/12: that crowd levels might be on the rise because it is closer to Christmas. It's true that the closer the calendar moves towards December 25, the more of an upturn
Walt Disney World sees in attendance. Historically, Thanksgiving week is very busy, while Christmas through New Year's Day is the busiest time of the year.
I would give a slight edge to the week of 12/08/12, The two weeks you ave selected fall right between Thanksgiving (this year on 11/22/12) and Christmas, both being roughly equal in days away from its closest holiday.
If you want to be on the safe side, go with the earlier week. You are definitely far out from Christmas, and Thanksgiving traffic has largely subsided (you might get the very end of the rush, but it won't last). You'll find, too, that most schools are still in session prior to winter break; I can't make that same assumption about the next week.
Regardless, the decorations will be up,
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party will be in full swing, and the holiday spirit will fill the air in both of those weeks.
So plan fearlessly, knowing that you have picked not only a gorgeous time of the year, but a time when you can enjoy the wonders of the season without too much of the crowd.
Have a holly, jolly, holiday at Disney!
See you later, celebrator,
Deborah B.
