Howdy Carly, and thanks for moseying over to planDisney.
Fort Wilderness Campground is one of my favorite places at Disney World, with so many fun activities and places to explore! The areas you’re looking to visit are close together, so I’d be happy to talk about getting between the two.
Tri-Circle-D Ranch is split into two locations at the campground, but I’m guessing you may be headed to the stable near the Settlement. This is where you can visit the horses that pull Cinderella’s carriage and the
Main Street Vehicles. And little ones can go on pony rides here. You’ll also find the Dragon Calliope there, a really cool horse-drawn musical instrument that Walt Disney purchased for Disneyland in the 1950s!
The fastest way to get to the Tri-Circle-D Ranch stable is to take a
boat or
bus from Magic Kingdom to Fort Wilderness, which drops off near the Settlement area. Buses coming from the other theme parks drop off closer to the main entrance of the campground. From there, you’ll need to take an internal bus to the Settlement.
From the Tri-Circle-D Ranch stable, it’s a short walk to where the
Horse Drawn Excursions depart, near
Crockett’s Tavern. While you can make same-day reservations, if available, I’d recommend booking your excursion in advance. Especially if you’re visiting during the Halloween or Christmas season. The horse drawn excursions are a great way to see all of the festive decorations campers put up on their sites, so spots always fill up quickly! If you were actually looking to visit The Trail Blaze Corral location of Tri-Circle-D Ranch, where you’ll find the trail rides, you’ll need to take the internal bus to the Settlement to start your horse drawn excursion.
Currently, U.K. guests aren’t able to book
Enchanting Extras through the Disney World website until they’re in the U.S. (and have access to the U.S. version of the website). But some experiences can be booked through the Chat With Us feature in the
My Disney Experience app or by calling on the phone. If that’s not an option, you can always book the horse-drawn excursion on the Disney World website once you get to the U.S., subject to availability.
Another fun experience to consider while you’re visiting Fort Wilderness is the
Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue. It’s a fun, interactive dinner show that will have you singing and clapping along with the Pioneer Hall Players!
I’m wishing you a magical time at Fort Wilderness! And if you have any other questions, you’re always welcome back at planDisney.
