We are looking at visiting however, my husband has medical and mobility issues. He will need a wheel chair and access to posable medical facility. Is this available?

Greetings, M Darlene, how wonderful to see you back at planDisney!

“To all who come to this happy place: Welcome.” Walt Disney’s phrase during the dedication of Disneyland Resort, and decades later the magic still includes everyone!

The detailed resource, services for Guests with disabilities contains information for services and access options available Resort-wide. May I draw your attention to information regarding ECV and Wheelchair Rentals with options to rent within Walt Disney World Resort, or through a Disney Featured Provider. If arriving at any theme park on foot is not a factor, and utilizing an ECV/Wheelchair within the theme park, then the option to rent these items would be easier from Walt Disney World Resort. If you require the full use of these items from your Guest Room, then I highly recommend renting from a Disney Featured Provider, or you are welcome to bring your own.

First Aid stations available at all theme parks are staffed by nurses and are equipped with private sections with cots, and accessible restrooms for those who are unwell, or who need to tend to their medical needs. At your Resort hotel, 24-hour, in-room medical services are available by using your in-room phone to contact the “Front Desk.” Lastly, offsite urgent care, such as AdventHealth Centra Care Walk-in Urgent Care Center at Lake Buena Vista, (407) 934-2273 is open 24-hours a day, 7 days a week - complimentary transportation is available, and many insurance plans are accepted. We have used this facility many times and were very impressed.

May I draw your attention to services for Guests with mobility disabilities that present Attraction Access Categories with information on types of transfers at attractions, or if you may remain in your Wheelchair/ECV so that you will know what to expect?

Please contact Disability Services at (407) 560-2547 or email disability.services@disneyparks.com for anything else you may need.

Lastly, I hope you are able to stay at the theme parks into the evening to enjoy the beautiful illuminations of the theme park icons with the Beacons of Magic. It is a short, but outstanding illumination to end off your evening.

    Best Disney Wishes ~ Jacqueline
