Greetings, Lorelei, and welcome to planDisney! As someone who avoids eggs and dairy, I understand how exciting it is to find delicious dessert options that are allergy-friendly. The good news is that the Disneyland Resort does a great job at providing
choices for Guests with special diet requests.
Lorelei, have you considered the
World of Color Dessert Party in California Adventure? This is a fun experience that can accommodate special diets.
World of Color Happiness! features towering fountains, a rainbow of colors, and a great soundtrack. You'd be seated at a table with a great view of the show and an assortment of tasty desserts. When making a reservation, request that the desserts be free of peanuts and tree nuts. You will likely get a call from the Special Diets team a few days before to confirm the request. I highly recommend this experience!
You can also dine at a table-service location that offers a
Mickey Mouse Celebration Cake, which can be ordered in advance. This cake is decadent, whimsical, and a popular addition for Guests looking for an extra special way to end their meal. According to the website, these cakes contain gluten, wheat, soy, milk, and eggs, but are produced in facilities that may include other allergens such as peanuts and tree nuts. If that works for you, add it to your reservation for a participating restaurant.
When it comes to seasonal foods, drinks, and desserts, we will learn more about holiday menus once the Holiday Foodie Guide is released on the
Disney Parks Blog. I expect that it will come out in early November. It doesn't typically include allergen information, but you can look it over to see if there's anything you're interested in learning more about. Within two weeks of your visit, you can
email the Special Diets team to request guidance on allergy-safe seasonal options. And once you're at the park, you can also speak to Cast Members at the dining locations you visit to confirm that a dessert you're interested in is allergy-friendly.
When it comes to food options, many table-service and some quick-service restaurants have a section within their digital menus that lists allergen-friendly options. You can check them out on the
Disneyland mobile app and the
Disneyland website. For example, at Red Rose Tavern, you may find options like nut allergy-friendly pancakes, French toast, potato bites, and more. Just browse the menus for the locations you're interested in and make note of the spots that have good options for you.
I've always felt that the table-service and quick-service restaurants do a great job in accommodating dietary requests. However, it's important to note that, while steps are taken to prevent cross-contact, there are not separate kitchens, so it can't be guaranteed that a menu item is completely free of certain allergens. Just keep this in mind, and remember that you are allowed to bring your own food into theme parks, if desired.
Lorelei, if you have any other questions ahead of your trip, please reach out. We're always happy to help here at planDisney.
Your pal,
Kriss
