Welcome, Sandra, to planDisney! I am so glad you stopped by with this question about a
Walt Disney World Resort vacation.
Exploring the theme parks with a Disney Private VIP Tour is an amazing way to enjoy the attractions within each park. One day we surprised our kids with this tour and managed to pack in 18 attractions across three parks. At breakfast, we talked about our aspirations:
TRON Lightcycle / Run,
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train,
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance and
Avatar Flight of Passage all in one day. My kids said there was no way to do all that without some serious Disney Magic. With the VIP Tour, we had it.
You can book VIP Tours for a minimum of 7 continuous hours per day. If you are hoping to see all four parks, I would offer a few recommendations based on my experience. The tours cover a lot of territory. I am used to stacking up 20,000+ steps in a day at Walt Disney World, but my step count was way higher on the day of the tour. Depending on the ages and interests of the people in your party, you could do two days of a VIP Tour, going to
Magic Kingdom Park and
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park on one day and
Disney's Hollywood Studios and
EPCOT on another. On the day you go to Magic Kingdom, time your tour to end at the start of Happily Ever After fireworks. Your VIP Tour guide will take you to a special location with a perfect view. It is a spectacular end to a magical day.
I would then look at different tours for the other days. There are so many options that go beyond the attractions in the theme parks. On my next trip, I am hoping we can go on the Wild Africa Trek. On this private tour, you get to explore the savannah, cross a rope bridge and ride in a safari vehicle to see giraffes, rhinos, hippos and crocodiles. At EPCOT you can get wet and go up close with Dolphins in Depth, and the Behind the Seeds tour is great for all ages. My dream is Disney's Keys to the Kingdom Tour when everyone in my family has celebrated a 16th birthday. If you do multiple VIP Tours, I would suggest trying one of these in between, just to change the energy and intensity across your vacation.
You can make reservations for these Enchanting Extras starting 60 days before your visit. Disney's Private VIP Tour has its own phone line and is booked separately from the other tours. A good tip: after talking with a Cast Member to arrange your VIP Tours, ask if they can transfer you to the other line to book any other Enchanting Extras.
