Hello Joanna!
Taking big groups to the
Walt Disney World is one of my specialties. We love sharing the magic of the resorts and theme parks with our family and friends, and almost always travel with a large group. We’ll be taking a party of 11 with us next month!
Disney’s Deluxe Villa Accommodations offer Deluxe Studios that sleep up to 5 and feature a kitchenette, 1 Bedroom Villas that sleep up to 5 and 2 Bedroom Villas that sleep up to 9, which both have a full kitchen, as well as a washer and dryer in the room. For maximum space and comfort, 3 Bedroom Grand Villas sleep up to 12!
With a party of 19, you’ll need to book more than one villa. I would look at the family breakdown to decide how many rooms you wish to book. I would look at all the options and chat with your family to decide what combination of rooms would work best for your family. I highly recommend booking at least one room that is a 1 Bedroom or larger because having the full kitchen as well as the washer and dryer truly makes the vacation easier more comfortable.
Joanna, looking at your dates, I will tell you that the holiday season is exceptionally popular at the Walt Disney World Resort. After a year where so many of us have sacrificed vacations, travel demand is way up. Everyone wants to travel right now! While I think villas are an excellent choice for your larger group, you may struggle with availability at this point. You may wish to consider alternate dates, perhaps in late January or early February for better availability. If you truly want to visit in late December, you may have to look at booking multiple standard rooms, or off-site locations. I do see some availability at
Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, and
Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort. I would recommend you
call to speak to the Walt Disney Travel Company to see if there are still enough rooms for your group's size at any of those locations.
Disney Theme Park Tickets can be purchased as part of a package, or on their own through your My Disney Experience Account! It’s quick and easy and you’ll automatically have the tickets linked to your account. You may wish to consider
Park Hopper Passes if you think you’d like to visit more than one theme park on a single day, and for more flexibility for such a large group. Once you have your Theme Park Tickets, be sure to make
Disney Park Pass Reservations right away. They are complementary but required to enter a theme park and they can book completely, so don’t wait to book!
I hope this helps, Joanna. If you need help deciding between available resorts, want suggestions on new dates to look at, restaurants to consider, or any other questions, we are here to help!
