Welcome to planDisney, Elizabeth!
As a foodie and plant-based Princess, I would be delighted to tell you about some delicious options your family can enjoy during your visit to the
Downtown Disney District! There are too many options to list! So, I’m just going to focus on my top suggestions for a family celebration!
First up is
Tortilla Jo’s! You’ll start your meal with chips, salsa and guacamole. Then you’ll find options like a Vegetarian Burrito (which is actually vegan). Or ask for the off-menu vegan fajitas or enchiladas. Steer clear of the red rice and refried beans. These items contain animal products. Instead, opt for cilantro lime rice and black beans for your side!
My next suggestion is
Ballast Point Brewing Co.! Start with the Bavarian Pretzels Bites! Just make sure to specify you want them vegan and they’ll be served without butter and cheese. Instead, they’ll come with a side of mustard! For an entree choose from Soyrizo and Roasted Cauliflower Tacos, Impossible Lettuce Cups or a lettuce-wrapped Impossible Burger.
Impossible Burgers are plentiful in Downtown Disney! You’ll also find one at
Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen and at
Splitsville! But that’s not all they offer! At Ralph Brennan’s you’ll also have the option to order Vegan Pasta or the off-menu Jambalaya. Across the way, at Splitsville, you can also choose from a modified Veggie Roll or the Spicy Veggie Bowl.
Lastly, at
Black Tap Craft Burgers & Shakes, you can order a Vegan Nashville Hot Sandwich served with a side of fries or a salad. And here you can order a vegan milkshake along with your meal. Choose from classic flavors like vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, and peanut butter. Or go crazy and order the Vegan Black ‘N White Cakeshake. It comes with a slice of chocolate cake on top! It’s perfect for celebrating a special occasion like a birthday and it is big enough to share! Although you each may want to order your own!
But, that’s not the only plant-based dessert in Downtown Disney! Head to
Sprinkles Cupcakes for a vegan Red Velvet cupcake. Or stop by
Salt & Straw for a double scoop in a cup or a sugar cone! I suggest one scoop of Freckled Mint TCHO-colate Chip and one scoop of Strawberry & Coconut Water Sherbet. Or, try one of their limited-time flavors. They rotate monthly so just ask for the vegan flavor of the month!
Many of the options I suggested are vegan by default. But, I always recommend letting your server know you want your dish prepared vegan. The kitchen may need to make modifications to some of the dishes listed.
If you’d like additional recommendations for delicious vegan food at the Disneyland Resort, please come back to planDisney! Food just happens to be my favorite topic!
Bon Apetit!
