I am looking for a TV channel line up for the resorts. 83 year old mother in law will need a break from the heat! Trying to see if she can relax and watch her shows!!

Hey there, Vic. Welcome to planDisney. Thanks for dropping by to chit-chat about your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation. I see it is just a few weeks away. I bet you are getting so excited!

Vic, I certainly understand needing to take a break from the Florida heat. I was just there a few days ago and the temperatures are certainly climbing up there. No matter which Walt Disney World Resort hotel that you happen to be staying at, you'll find a television with plenty of channels to choose from. The channel lineup is mostly your basic cable with Disney-owned channels weaved in.

Here is kind of a breakdown of what you'll find on the television:

2 – Walt Disney World Today - park hours & weather
3 – Your Disney Resort - hotel information
    4 – Disney Must Do
5 – Disney Springs - information about restaurants and shops
6 – Disney Vacation Club - information about the program

Then we get into more of your regular television programming. On the next few channels, you'll find your local news stations that are in partnership with channels like ABC, NBC, CBS, and FOX. Then on channel 11, you'll find the actual tv channel guide which will be helpful when your mom is looking for something to watch. Up next will be the weather channel and then all of your Disney channel stations. The next 10 channels or so are dedicated to sports and after that are a handful of national news stations. That's when we start getting into those niche-specific channels where you can find movies, cooking shows, documentaries about animals, home renovations and so much more. After all of those channels, you'll notice a few Spanish-speaking channels, a few more with Disney-related content and that's about it. Vic, all in all, there are over 80 channels to choose from while you are in your Walt Disney World Resort Hotel room.

Hopefully, your mom will be able to find something to watch with all of these options, Vic. The other night it was raining and we turned in early and there were plenty of movies on the channels to choose from. I thought the variety was really great!

If you have any other questions about this, or anything else, please feel free to stop back by and ask me. I'm here to help!

    Have fun!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
