Hi, we are looking into a trip for 8 adults and 3 children 2-9 years old sometime in 2024 My question is specifically about the sleeper sofa’s at the deluxe dvc resorts. Are they comfortable enough for 2 adults?Trying to decide on 4 rooms or 1 large villa.

    Welcome to planDisney, Tam!

Thanks for stopping by with your question today.  As someone who has lots of experience traveling with a large group, I don't there's anything better than a Walt Disney World Resort vacation where the whole family gets to come along.  Sure, it may take a little extra planning, but the laughs we share, the memories we make, and the magic we create make all that effort worth it.  I'm so excited that you're already planning a big family vacation for 2024 –– I think you're in for an incredible visit!

When our family travels as a large group, I really love it when we can all stay together, which is what makes the Deluxe Villa accommodations at the Disney Vacation Club Resorts so special –– with options that sleep up to 12 Guests, which also include fully-equipped kitchens and an in-room washer and dryer, it's the perfect place for our traveling circus to call home.  But like you, I also know that there's nothing worse than waking up with a stiff back, especially when you'll be spending the whole day on your feet while you explore the Walt Disney World theme parks.  To help all your family members get a great night's sleep (even the ones who won't be sleeping in a traditional bed), I recommend choosing a Resort that offers queen-size and twin-size murphy-style beds, rather than a traditional pullout sleeper sofa.  In my experience, because these beds have a standard mattress, I find them to be much more comfortable than the pullout sofas.

And here's the best part –– as Disney Vacation Club has been adding new rooms and refurbishing old favorites, those pullout sofas are being replaced with the murphy bed option.  Currently, you'll find murphy-style beds in the Villa accommodations at Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows, Disney's Riviera Resort, Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, and The Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.  That means you won't have to choose between staying together at an incredible Resort or getting a great night's sleep.  Also, I would expect more of these murphy-style beds to be added as Disney Vacation Club refurbished the rooms at additional Resort –– since you have some time before your visit, there might even be a few more Resorts to choose from if you're looking for this option.

Thanks so much for visiting planDisney, Tam.  If you think of new planning questions as your Walt Disney World Resort visit gets closer, I hope you'll stop by again –– we're always here to lend a helping hand!

    Happy Planning,
    Amy
