Hi Tommy and welcome home! One of the best benefits to
Disney Vacation Club membership is the flexibility it provides. We’ve
banked, borrowed, and transferred our DVC points to create longer and memorable trips, such as a multi-generational family trip to
Aulani, A Disney Resort and Spa!
Tommy, you’re such a great friend for helping your fellow member book their trip by transferring your points. When you transfer points across memberships, those points retain the same properties. This means that the points retain the same
home resort priority booking window, Use Year, banking deadline, and expiration date, regardless of the home resort and Use Year of the recipient’s membership. For example, if you have points from
Disney’s Riviera Resort with a June Use Year and your friend’s home resort is
Disney’s Polynesian Villas and Bungalows with a December Use Year, they can only combine points for a Polynesian villa stay at 7 months.
But don’t fret, DVC points that expire in June can still be banked, as the
banking deadline for June Use Year points is January 31. So, you can bank your DVC points and then transfer them to your friend to extend their expiration date. Don’t forget that in order to transfer your DVC points, both you and the other member need to
call Member Services to complete the transaction.
Tommy, I hope you find this information helpful. Should you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to me and my friends at
planDisney!
Your pal,
Sean
