Seasons Greetings, Mary, and welcome back to planDisney! Vacations at Walt Disney World are always wonderful, but holidays at The Most Magical Place on Earth are extra magical. The beginning of December is a great time to go, too, because the halls are fully decked with their boughs of holly while crowds are lighter than they are during Thanksgiving and Christmas weeks.
There are many tours within the
Enchanting Extras Collection that you can reserve at Walt Disney World, most of which are available year-round. Some of the more popular ones in the parks are
Disney's Keys to the Kingdom Tour at Magic Kingdom, including access to some backstage areas and
Wild Africa Trek at Disney's Animal Kingdom.
Behind the Seeds at EPCOT is popular year-round, too, giving you a closer look at
Living with the Land. but during the holiday season, it transforms into
Behind the Seeds: Glimmering Greenhouses. While
Living with the Land - Glimmering Greenhouses can be enjoyed without the tour, you'll get a much more in-depth experience including access to exclusive areas with the tour.
If you're looking for more holiday-themed experiences, I have some ideas for you. If you book a Magic Kingdom
Fireworks Cruise on a night when
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party takes place, you'll get a great view of Minnie's Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks Show from your private pontoon boat parked in front of Magic Kingdom. You could also book a
Holiday Sleigh Ride through the Cabins and Campsites at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. My family and I enjoyed this a few years ago, and it definitely put us in the holiday spirit.
EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays will be in full swing during your visit. While not part of a tour, I enjoy making my way around all the countries in World Showcase listening to the different storytellers. I also highly recommend the
Candlelight Processional Dining Package. Not only will you get a great meal, but you'll also receive guaranteed seating at one of the
Candlelight Processional performances.
Please keep in mind that these ideas are based on what's been offered in the past. Like you, I'm eagerly awaiting details around this year's holiday offerings, which should be released later this summer. Keep an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog and Disney Parks social media for updates.
Mary, I hope you have a very merry holiday during your Walt Disney World vacation. Please visit us again if you have any other planning questions.
Let your dreams guide you!
