Hi there! We are looking to have Thanksgiving dinner at Disneyworld this year and are stuck deciding where to eat. So far we are stuck between Whispering Canyon or Liberty Tavern. What do you think is best?

Hey there, Nycole, and thanks for stopping by planDisney. I love that you'll be celebrating Thanksgiving in style at Walt Disney World Resort--adding some extra pixie dust to your holidays is certainly something to be thankful for. Tie a napkin 'round your neck, cherie, as we debate locations for a magical Turkey Day dinner!

If you have your heart set on a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, several locations at Walt Disney World fit the bill. Liberty Tree Tavern, located at Magic Kingdom Park, serves up tasty turkey dinners all year round. This restaurant offers all-you-care-to-enjoy dining, so everyone can enjoy their fill of holiday favorites! Liberty Tree's menu also features some excellent plant-based options, refreshing cocktails, and one of my favorite Disney desserts--the Oooey Gooey Toffee Cake!

Whispering Canyon Cafe at Disney's Wilderness Lodge has offered a fixed-price menu for Thanksgiving Day dinner for the past several years. The 2024 menu hasn't been confirmed yet, but it usually features classic favorites with a twist--including Thanksgiving skillets featuring oak-smoked turkey and barbecue.

Nycole, I think you can't go wrong with either menu--although if you love barbecue, Whispering Canyon may be your choice! Personally, I like taking a break from the parks midday and then returning later for fireworks and more fun, especially on a holiday when there tends to be large crowds. I would likely opt for dinner at Wilderness Lodge. The boat ride from the Magic Kingdom is lovely and will give you a chance to unwind and enjoy your meal.

Don't forget that you can enjoy Thanksgiving dinner every day at Liberty Tree, so you can always make a reservation there for another day if you want to double your Turkey Day fun!

I hope this helps with your decision--whatever you choose, it's sure to be extra-delicious when enjoyed with your favorite people at The Most Magical Place on Earth. Thanks again for visiting planDisney, and please stop by anytime if we can help with other questions. We're thankful for YOU!
