We are looking at taking a trip to Disney 11/23/12 thru 11/30/12 for our sons 10th birthday. What are the crowds like the week after thanksgiving? We are planning to get there the day after or should we wait a couple of days?

    Hi Stefani,

Please wish your son a lovely 10th birthday from the Moms Panel!  It sounds like you have a wonderful celebration in store for him this year.

In my opinion, I think it is worth waiting a few days after Thanksgiving to depart for Walt Disney World.  Thanksgiving weekend (Thursday - Sunday) is a busy time at the theme parks.  The following week, however, is blissfully less crowded.  You will still have the option to attend Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party and see all of the gorgeous holiday decorations without having to deal with heavy crowds.

There's no doubt you will still have a fabulous time if you go the day after Thanksgiving, but you should be prepared to encounter more significant crowds than if you go a few days later.

Have fun planning a spectacular birthday celebration for son!
