Hi Karen,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you for your question. My fellow panelists and I once had a chance to learn about Walt Disney’s legendary love of trains and see some of his beloved train-related keepsakes. As such passionate Disney fans, we were deeply moved hearing the stories of Walt’s connection to trains and they way he used them in his storytelling over the course of his life. Ever since then, I’ve had Disney’s The Magic Behind Our Steam Trains Tour on my bucket list, so I’m thrilled to hear you’re considering choo-choo-choosing this tour.
I checked in with a Cast Member, who confirmed that
Disney’s The Magic Behind Our Steam Trains Tour has not been affected while the
Walt Disney World Railroad is closed for refurbishment. The Cast Member asked me to assure you that everything listed on the tour’s website is still taking place. If you have specific questions about the tour, you can reach a Cast Member at (407) WDW-TOUR. I have been lucky enough to have been part of two
Walt Disney World tours, and I have absolutely loved every minute of both. The Cast Members who serve as tour guides are wonderfully knowledgeable, fabulous storytellers, and their love of Walt Disney World is infectious.
Karen, while the Walt Disney World Railroad is closed, I highly recommend a ride on another magical mode of transit – the
Liberty Square Riverboat. You’ll feel transported back in time as you board the Liberty Belle and cruise the Rivers of America on a leisurely cruise, and it’s a lovely way to relax and take in some unique storytelling touches and Disney details that can be spotted on the riverbank.
For updates on the Railroad refurbishment, as well as all the latest news from around Walt Disney World, be sure to read the
Disney Parks Blog as you count down to your summer holiday. I hope you have a wonderful time!
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
