We are looking into taking our first Disney cruise over Easter 2012 on the Magic or the Fantasy. Our children are 6 and 3 and really into Easter. Do the cruises do anything special for the Easter holiday? Does the Easter Bunny make an appearance?

    Hi, Caroline!

Disney Cruises are extra special family vacations, and no one does holidays quite like Disney! There will be festivities and special activities on board the ships at Easter -- including traditional Easter fare in the restaurants, worship services in common areas and fun events for the entire family. Presently, the Entertainment Team has not confirmed Easter plans for any ships or itineraries, but you can rest assured that the occasion will be celebrated.

As far as the fluffy guy making an appearance on the ships, I've never heard of him venturing out to sea, but I wouldn't put it past Goofy to "disguise" himself or make for a substitute while on board. (He has been known to try to impersonate Santa Claus!) My children have never missed any of our  typical traditions and celebrations while on board a Disney ship during the holidays because the crew members make it extraordinary to be at sea during a time when most people are celebrating back on land. I love that I get to enjoy every minute of the celebration without having to worry about the details of cooking, decorating and everything else which hinders a mom from being in the moment. A Disney Cruise makes for such a wonderful family holiday celebration!

Let me know if you think of other questions for me before you sail, and best wishes as you plan. Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
