Looking at taking our first cruise ever!! What is temp like in Jan? We want to do a 4 night cruise to Bahammas, but I am worried I am going to freeze! We are trying to miss as least amount of school possible for our 7 and 11yr old. THanks!!

    Hi, Vanessa!

Congratulations on considering your first cruise ever and choosing Disney Cruise Line -- you'll wonder why you've never sailed before now!

I was actually on the Disney Dream to the Bahamas in January, and we experienced beautiful weather with temperatures in the 70s and low 80s (F) -- in Florida and in the Bahamas. Everyone swam in the pools and at Castaway Cay, and sleeveless tops and shorts were the norm during the day. Yet, I will say that weather in January can be somewhat unpredictable. Therefore, go ahead and book your cruise for then and just hope, pray and trust for good weather. Of course, that's really all any of us can do for our vacations.

Remember to pack a jacket or sweater and watch the local forecast for Port Canaveral and Nassau before you leave home. The great thing about a Disney cruise is that sometimes you have to remind yourself to take your eyes off the ship and look toward the land -- you won't have any trouble finding plenty to do and see even if it's a little chilly on deck.

Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
