Ahoy, Tina!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I appreciate you stopping by with this really great question. As a fellow mama to a non-verbal son with special needs, I understand the importance of planning far in advance when it comes to preparing for a family vacation. I can't say enough incredible things about how accommodating Disney Cruise Line is towards children of all abilities!
How wonderful that your son's autism support worker (ASW) will be joining you on the cruise! His ASW is welcome to accompany him in Disney's Oceaneer Club and Disney's Oceaneer Lab only during the Youth Activities Open House hours throughout the voyage. The Open House hours for both Youth Clubs will be listed each day in the Personal Navigator newsletter. The entire family is welcome to join your son during the Youth Activities Open House hours, too!
Tina, once you've booked your cruise, please give the
Disney Cruise Line Special Services Team a call at (407) 566-3602 to discuss your little buccaneer in more detail. They are outstanding and might even suggest possible accommodations that you didn't even know existed onboard! We contact Special Services before every voyage and each time has been a wonderful experience.
If you haven't done so already, check out the
Information for Guests with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. I suggest looking it over prior to calling Special Services so you can ask any questions you might have to the helpful team member over the phone!
Thank you, again, for visiting us! If you have any more questions, please come back and "sea" us again! We want to make the voyage for you and your son a smooth-sailing one!
