Hi, Lauren! Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. My daughter was a similar age when we took her on her first Disney Parks vacation!
As you are probably aware, your daughter can ride with you on any
attraction that doesn't have a height requirement - and there are many! For the most part, it will generally be up to you whether you feel comfortable with her sitting next to you or on your lap. For attractions like Dumbo the Flying Elephant, Mad Tea Party, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Peter Pan's Flight, "it's a small world," and other similar attractions, my daughter really enjoyed sitting in her own seat which was usually between my husband and me. For slightly more adventurous attractions like Pirates of the Caribbean, Flik's Flyers, and Mickey's Fun Wheel, I felt more comfortable with her on my lap. The Cast Members at each attraction will let you know if your child must sit in their own seat or on your lap for safety precautions.
You should also plan on spending some time in Mickey's Toontown. On my daughter's first trip, she really needed an area to run around and play to burn off some energy. If your daughter is the same, then she will love exploring Chip 'n Dale Treehouse, Donald's Boat, and Goofy's Playhouse. And when it's time to wind down, you might try the
Enchanted Tiki Room. This would either totally mesmerize my child or put her right to sleep! You can even grab a Dole Whip right outside the Enchanted Tiki Room and take it in with you to enjoy during the show.
Please stop by again if you have any more questions. We love helping families plan magical vacations to the Disneyland Resort!
