I am looking to surprise my 4 kids at Christmas with a Disney trip in April ! In the past we have gone in January / February and enjoyed the low crowds and cooler temps, worried about the crowds if we go April 10th-17th any input is appreciated thanks

    Hi Marcie!

You are definitely one of the "cool" parents we love to hear about. Surprising your children with a Walt Disney World vacation is just about the most magical thing you can possibly give them. In the past we have surprised our grandchildren by taking them to the airport without telling them where we were going. They figured it out fast and I can still hear the screams of happiness.

January and February definitely is a good time to visit for cooler temperatures and for the most part crowds. Easter this year is on April 1 so Easter week will be over on the 7th. Of course that does not mean crowds will completely disperse but heading to Disney for the weeks on either side of Easter is one of the busiest times and would definitely avoid those dates. The dates you mentioned should be an excellent time for a visit.

Although it is impossible to know about crowds from year to year due to school calendars changing around the country I would not worry too much about the week you chose. The weather will be warmer but it is actually quite nice at that time of year. The daily rain doesn't start up that early but you might see some occasional showers. It would certainly be nothing to worry about that would alter your plans. The April temperatures range from low 60s at night to low 80s in the day and is considered one of the best weather months. It is warm enough to enjoy the pools but not too hot that you wear down from the parks.

I would definitely say you get an A+ for your Disney Planning.  Remember to get the surprise on video to share and enjoy for years to come!
