Looking at a 2018 summer trip to Disney World with 2 families-four parents & six 19-year olds. We're concerned about activities for the young adults. Any suggestions on activities and lodging not too kid themed? (1 room of 4, 1 room of 6)

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Kimberly!

You've come to the right place. I'm a firm believer that you are never too old to appreciate the magic of Disney, but I also understand that not everyone knows that there are exceptional activities for young adults across Walt Disney World Resort property.

For instance, I imagine your 19-year-olds would love the opportunity to take Segways off-roading at The Campsites of Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. Guests must be at least 16 to participate in the Wilderness Back Trail Adventure and it is incredibly fun. Behind-the-scenes tours are another activity reserved for our older guests. If your adult children would enjoy seeing the inner workings of Magic Kingdom Park, then you have to sign them up for the Walt Disney: Marceline to Magic Kingdom Tour. The minds of the high school seniors I take on this tour are blown by the ingenuity of the Disney Imagineers when they take this tour.

As for accommodations, there are some truly sophisticated Walt Disney World Resort hotels that would be a good fit for your family. Disney's Boardwalk Villas has always struck me as the perfect resort for adults. While children are certainly welcome here, this resort definitely has a mature, upscale vibe that adults can appreciate. The same can be said for Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. In the moderate category of resorts, I would say that Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter is enchanting for adults. With its quaint cobblestone streets and magnolia blossoms, it's a favorite among honeymooners.

    Best wishes,
    Jill
