We are looking into staying in the Grand Floridian this November and I was wondering when the resort puts up their decorations - including the gingerbread house. Is it before Thanksgiving? We are looking to stay the week before Thanksgiving.

Happy (early) holidays, Deanna! Thanks for popping in to see us again at the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Let's check out some Christmas decor at the Walt Disney World Resort!

Deanna, there's nothing like Christmas at Walt Disney World. From the Theme Parks to the Resort hotels to Disney Springs, it just seems like they deck every hall and trim every tree with holiday finery. We don't have exact dates for the holiday transformation yet, but I did find a helpful Disney Parks Blog article with a rundown of when the Resort hotel gingerbread creations have come out in the past. It looks like Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is typically ready for Christmas sometime around November 15. If you're planning a visit the week before Thanksgiving, you should find yourself surrounded by the Christmas spirit. And if you're anything like me, that also means picking up a tasty shingle from the shop inside the gingerbread house!

One thing we do know for sure is that the Magic Kingdom Park will be all dressed up for Christmas by the time you arrive! The Park hosts the first Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party of the season on November 8, so you'll definitely be able to get a taste of the holidays during your visit. And for a real treat, you might consider Disney's Yuletide Fantasy tour, a three-hour behind-the-scenes excursion into Disney's holiday magic. I just checked the dates, and it looks like the tour is offered most days in November, excluding Sundays and Thanksgiving weekend. I think you'd love it!

I hope this helps you plan a jolly Disney holiday, Deanna. Please come see us again if you have any more questions, and have a joyous holiday season!

Meet the Panelist: Kathy, Florida

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
