We are looking at staying at the Disney Campgrounds next fall, we will most likely be tent camping, our tent is very large, we are in need of a dump station for our portable potty. Are there dump station facilities available to tent campers?

    Hi Gina!

I am a frequent "camper" at the Fort Wilderness Resort in Walt Disney World although we do our camping in a motor coach. But I love camping and Disney offers the best facilities in the country.

Fort Wilderness does not have sewer hookups at the tent sites. They also do not have a dump station on property. If there is a site that is not being used that has a sewer hookup you will be allowed to go there and use it to take care of your portable potty. If they are all occupied then you will simply have to take it home or find a location in the Orlando area.

Many guests have found that the tent loops are close enough to the Comfort Stations that they do not need to bring their own facilities with them. I will say that the Comfort Stations at Disney are some of the cleanest I have ever seen. They offer men and women's facilities that are separate, There are private toilet areas and several shower rooms where you can completely be closed off in privacy. In the center of the building are the laundry facilities and there will also be an ice machine.

The campsites themselves will offer a short concrete pad and then a soft even sand base at the end where it is easy to erect your tents. Each site will also have a picnic table, grill, water and electric hookup, and cable connection. The fall is a great time to visit and I know you will soon be counting down the days until your vacation!
