Old Key West Resort

We are looking to stay at old key west next year at the end of June. Are the busses running between all the parks from the resort or do we need to find out own transportation?

    Hello Patrick!

Welcome to planDisney! Disney’s Old Key West Resort is an excellent choice for a family vacation to the Walt Disney World Resort. As Disney Vacation Club Members, this is one of my family’s favorites and we are looking forward to an upcoming stay this winter. The rooms are large and bright, with plenty of space for everyone to spread out. After being in the busy theme parks, I appreciate the laid-back and quiet atmosphere of this resort for a little downtime. The pool area is large, the kids love the sandcastle slide, and I’m always happy sitting poolside with a beverage from The Gurgling Suitcase!

All Disney Resort Collection Hotels offer complimentary transportation to all four theme parks, water parks, and Disney Springs. So from Disney’s Old Key West Resort, you’ll be able to hop a bus to all four theme parks, no need to find your own transportation. You’ll also have both a bus and boat service to Disney Springs! When I am on vacation, I like to leave the driving and parking to Disney, so we always use resort transportation. Typically buses run approximately every 20 minutes, but this is just a guideline and not a set schedule. During the middle of the day, you may wait a bit longer, and during peak times, buses may come more often. As a rule of thumb, I always leave our family a full hour to get from our resort to a theme park. This leaves time for running a few minutes late (I have four kids, it happens), walking to the bus stop, waiting for the bus, and the actual transportation time.
If you will be flying to Orlando, you will need to arrange your transportation from the airport to the Walt Disney World Resort. Sadly, Disney’s Magical Express will not be available in 2022, but you may want to consider a ride share service, taxi, or Mears Connect as good options.

I hope this helps with your planning, Patrick. Please let me know if you have any additional questions. We are here to help!
