Looking to stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge in a standard room. Do they have a fridge? Trying to determine if I should just book the Savannah room...or if the standard room is just as nice. Thank you

    Hi Rita,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us a question! Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is my favourite Walt Disney World Resort Hotel, so you’re in for a real treat if you choose to stay there during your upcoming vacation.

First, almost every hotel room in Walt Disney World Resort has a mini fridge, so you don’t need to worry about that when trying to make a choice between a Standard View vs. a Savanna View Room.

From my experience, the only difference between these two types of rooms that I’ve been able to see has been, well, what I can see when I’m standing on my balcony! Although I would definitely recommend staying in a Savanna View room if you have the room for it in your vacation budget, Standard View rooms are great too! During one of our last visits to Walt Disney World Resort, we didn’t have a view of one of the savannas from our room. Instead, we took the time to roam around the Lodge and look at all of the different animal viewing areas. I actually think that not having a Savanna View room allowed us to see a wider variety of animals because we would go and observe them from all of the different lookout points. When you check in, you’ll receive a map of the Resort that will give you a list of the different animal observation points.

Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions!

    Have a Magical Day,

    Lynne
