Hi Roger,
It's always nice to see you planning Disney at planDisney. Thank you for your service that qualifies you for
Disney Military Salute Tickets and for the generosity that motivates you to share your tickets with your son and daughter-in-law. My family couldn't visit Walt Disney World Resort as often as we do without the service and generosity of my father-in-law so your question really resonates with me.
Disney Military Salute Tickets purchased at a US military base ticket office must be activated before use. Activation takes place at Guest Relations, either outside the entrance of a theme park or at the
Disney Ticket Center at Disney Springs. Both the Eligible Service Member and the person(s) to whom the Disney Military Salute Tickets are linked should be present for activation. One year my father-in-law tried to activate our tickets during the kids' naptime but was told they couldn't be activated until all were present. Once the tickets are activated, they can be used to access the theme parks without the service member. Since it sounds like you won't be visiting the parks at the same time as your son, I'm afraid you won't be able to activate them in time for his arrival. I have another idea, though.
Disney Military Salute Tickets purchased through
Shades of Green come pre-activated, which means your son and daughter-in-law could use them to access a theme park as soon as they've linked them to their My Disney Experience accounts and made theme park reservations. I encourage you to consult the Ticket Request Form and get this process started as soon as possible to ensure your son and daughter-in-law have time to
link the tickets and make
theme park reservations before their trip.
I hope this information leads to
happily ever after, Roger. Please don't hesitate to
reach out with any other trip-planning questions.
With gratitude,
Jennifer
