Hi Shanna,
Your touring approach sounds exactly like mine! Even before we had our little guy, we would hit the Parks in the morning, go back to our Resort for a nap or pool time and then head back in the evenings for dinner and more nighttime fun. This is why staying in a Walt Disney World Resort hotel is such an essential part of my family’s vacation plans… and we’ve tried almost all of them!
If you loved Disney’s Pop Century Resort, then you’ll ADORE staying in a Family Suite at
Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. Not only is the Big Blue Pool pretty amazing for both the young and the young at heart, but also I found that having a kitchenette was a great way to save time/money during our vacation by having breakfast in our room before heading out for the day.
My favourite Moderate Resort Hotel is probably
Disney’s Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter. I love its small size because that means it doesn’t feel as though it’s a hike to get to either the pool, food court or even the (single!) bus stop that serves the Resort. If you don’t mind a bit more walking, then a very close second to me in the “Moderate” category would be
Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort. I love the theming and I think that your son may really “dig” The Dig Site Pool. It also has some of the best and most varied dining options out of all of the other Resorts in its category.
I hope my answer helps you plan your family’s upcoming visit and please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions.
Have a Magical Day,
Lynne
