Looking for resort w/ easy transportation. Traveling feb 15-20 with DH and DD 5 and 2. . Poly or contemp? How long does it take to get to MK from both via mono? How long does it take to use the walking path from the Contemp? Can fireworks be seen from both

    Hi Kaylene!!!

Thank you so much for your question!!!

I have stayed at both Disney's Contemporary Resort and Disney's Polynesian Resort and loved them both!!!  They each offer their own unique and awesome atmosphere!!

It takes approximately five minutes to get from the Polynesian to the Magic Kingdom via the Monorail.  It is the second stop (Grand Floridian is first.)  If you take the Monorail from the Contemporary Resort, you are looking at a ten minute ride as it is the fourth stop (Transportation and Ticket Center, Polynesian, Grand Floridian, and then the Magic Kingdom.)

Coming back from the Magic Kingdom it is only about a two to three minute ride to the Contemporary and about a seven to ten minute ride to the Polynesian.  It is about a ten minute walk using the walking path between the Contemporary and the Magic Kingdom.

Yes, the fireworks can be seen from both resorts.  They are much closer when staying at the Contemporary, but I must say that it was beautiful seeing them from the Polynesian last month and watching them explode over the Seven Seas Lagoon.

You definitely cannot go wrong with either choice!!  Please let me know if you have any additional questions!

    Have a magical day!!
