    Hi Michael,

Welcome to planDisney and thank you for your question! How exciting, your trip is in just a few weeks!

When it comes to EVCs and wheelchairs, the Walt Disney World Resort has you covered. There are 2 options when it comes to these types of rentals, the first is renting within the Theme Park, Water Park, or Disney Springs. For this type of rental, you pay a daily fee and use the EVC while in that specific Park or area. When you’re ready to leave, you return the EVC. If you’re going to another Theme Park, you just show your rental receipt at the next EVC location, and you’ll have a new vehicle for that Theme Park (you won’t need to pay again that day).

The second option is ScooterBug, Disney’s featured third-party provider for wheelchairs and EVCs. Through ScooterBug, you’re able to order an ECV or wheelchair to use throughout the Walt Disney World Resort for the length of your stay. The really great part about this service is that the ECV or wheelchair is delivered right to your Disney Resorts Collection hotel! The Cast Members at the Resort will work with the ScooterBug team to deliver and return the ECV or wheelchair rental on your behalf. It’s super simple, just pre-order your delivery to start the process.

As you noted, Disability Access Service helps those who might have difficulty tolerating the longer wait times. To start the process, you’ll want to pre-register between 30 – two days in advance of your Theme Park visit. Since your trip is soon, you’re in the perfect window to pre-register. To do this, you’ll first want to make sure your Friends and Family List is up to date with your entire party in the My Disney Experience mobile app. You’ll also want to make sure everyone has valid Theme Park admission as well as Disney Park Pass reservations. Then you’ll want to schedule your “Pre-Arrival Live Video Chat” with a Cast Member from 7:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time. If you aren’t able to do a video chat, Hakuna Matata, just register onsite at Guest Relations. After you’re registered, you can start planning with DAS Advance Planning!

I know that was a ton of information, but I hope this “Bit By Bryanna” is helpful as you prepare for your May vacation. If you have any other vacation or planning questions in the meantime, please feel free to reach out, I’m always happy to help!
