Hi, Carrie! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
The Mickey Tie-Dye
recreation activity at many of the
Walt Disney World Resort hotels is a popular one! I often see children (and those young at heart) with Cast Members near the pool creating these great souvenirs! I believe the cost is between $16-$20 per shirt, and adults can make them, too! If you do plan on making these wearable works of art, see the
lobby concierge for an activity guide. Here is how it works:
1) Receive a white t-shirt (included in the cost),
2) Tie it with rubber bands, Cast Members will ensure that the signature “Mickey” shape is created, through the way the shirts are tied,
3) Dye the shirt by squirting multiple colors onto it with the provided squirt bottles,
3)Allow shirts to dry. Cast Members will recommend that you keep it tied up until you arrive home.
The activity lasts approximately 30 minutes. I have also heard that sometimes, the shirts shrink in the dryer, so you may want to get a size larger than usual, or let them air-dry.
I hope you have a colorful, magical time!
Jen
