Hello Laura! Thanks for coming to visit the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your planning question! You are planning a trip to The Most Magical Place on Earth during the most magical time of the year!
I recently had the opportunity to stay at
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge! I also happen to have twins! A Savanna View room at this resort offers a rather incredible experience for kids and adults! The opportunity to have giraffes right outside your hotel balcony is really exciting! Just be sure to request a Savanna View room when booking your reservation. My kids also happen to love Disney Resort Hotel pools! We always make it a point to get to the parks early in the morning so that we can enjoy the afternoon (and snacks) by the pool. The
pools at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge are huge!
Animal Kingdom Lodge also happens to be one of the most beautifully decorated Disney Resort Hotels at Christmastime! The bows of holly, the lights, the music, and the enormous Christmas tree reaching from floor to ceiling are stunning. When considering which Disney Resort Hotel is best, I encourage you to call the resort directly to inquire about when fall decorations come down and when Christmas decorations go up. Your arrival date is going to put you right in the middle of the time between Halloween haunts and Christmas celebrations. I wouldn't want you to miss out on the decorations that you want to see most!
Finally, Laura, if Christmas decorations are at the top of your list, then you might want to consider
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom Park! This special-ticket event is held on select nights from early November through the holiday season! You will have a chance to see some of the most beautiful Christmas decorations in all of the Walt Disney World Resort. These events offer special holiday-themed entertainment and complimentary Christmas cookies, cider, and hot chocolate with your admission. The best perk is that Guests holding tickets for this event can enter the park as early as 4:00PM, even though the event doesn't begin until 7:00PM!
