I was looking at purchasing a dining plan for my family & saw the plans are for kids 3+. My child will still be two when we go so how do plan for his meals? Do we buy them separate or is there a way to add a plan for him?

    Hi Ryan!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

I love using the Disney Dining Plan - it offers so much flexibility and convenience around the whole Resort, when dining at the four theme parks, water parks, Disney Resort hotels and select locations at Disney Springs.  The Disney Dining Plans are not available for any children up to the age of 2.  They are welcome to share your plate, or you can order additional sides or a small meal for them, if you wish, and pay for those separately.  This works the same way as ordering additional items for yourselves that are not included on the dining plans - you just pay for these separately by using your MagicBand to charge to your room account, or you can use cash, credit cards or Disney Gift Cards in some restaurants.  Your server will explain what is included with your dining plan credits when you arrive at the restaurant.

Please remember when you are making your dining reservations that you include all Guests, including your two-year-old, in your total numbers.  Reservations can be made up to 180 days in advance, either online, or by using your My Disney Experience account.  Young children enjoy the character dining experiences, but these are very popular so please make any reservations for these as soon as you can.  I highly recommend Chef Mickey's at Disney's Contemporary Resort, where you will be visited at your table by Chef Mickey (of course) and some, if not all, of his friends - Minnie, Pluto, Goofy and Donald.  The Crystal Palace at Magic Kingdom Park is also another favourite of mine.  Meeting Winnie the Pooh and friends at breakfast is a lovely way to start your day!

Please come back and visit us if you have any further questions. We will be happy to help you plan your magical vacation to Walt Disney World Resort.
