Hi Ben! Welcome to planDisney!
The announcement everyone has been waiting for! The
Disney Dining Plan is finally making its triumphant return to the Walt Disney World Resort next year! With this news comes a host of questions that I will be happy to address for you!
Once your child hits double digits in age, they are considered an adult when visiting
Walt Disney World. This is most important for pricing since they will now be charged as an adult for park tickets and the Disney Dining Plan. With this said, most table-service restaurants at Walt Disney World are very accommodating to younger Guests who may be a bit of a picky eater. When you sit down for your meal, talk to your server about your options at that specific location. If there is a children's menu available, you'll most likely not have a problem ordering off of it for your 14-year-old.
Unfortunately, this will not change the cost that you had to pay for the
Disney Dining Plan. Since your eldest will be charged as an adult, this may not be the most cost-effective option. You'll essentially be paying adult prices for a children's meal. Just a reminder, all members of your party will be required to have the Disney Dining Plan if you decide to add it. You will not be able to pick and choose select members of your group to not participate. If you prefer the convenience of paying for your meals in advance, the Disney Dining Plan will be the way to go. Otherwise, it may be beneficial to price out your anticipated meals to see which option will be best for your group.
Ben, I hope this information helps you plan for your upcoming stay!
