We were looking at the preferred campsites. They show a picture of a tent and says sleeps up to 10. Are the tents pictured their or do I have to bring my own? Thank You!

Hi Nachole! We are frequent guests at the Fort Wilderness Campsites and love our stays in this wonderful resort.  The photos that show any of the campsites are strictly to show you the general size and give you a visual description. The motor coaches and tents are simply only used for the photographs.  Tents are not on the sites and guests are asked to bring their own.

On occasion if they are not busy with group reservations in the group camping area they might be able to rent you a tent and some simple equipment but it cannot be guaranteed. Group camping gets first access to the equipment. My suggestion is to bring your own so you are sure to have exactly what you need.

When making your reservation be sure and include that you will want to also have a tent on your site. This will help the site assigner provide you with the best one available that can also have room for the tent. Most of the premium sites will have the long concrete pads making it difficult to find a space for a tent. Your best bet are the loops with the pads that also have the sand in the back.

Enjoy your upcoming Fort Wilderness vacation!
