Hi! I am looking into planning a 4-night Bahamian cruise for my boyfriend and I and we are not planning to do any Port Adventures at Nassau. Are there any good places for lunch not too far from port? I can't seem to find any doing my own research.

    Hi Cora!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I'm excited to hear that you will be cruising with Captain Mickey to the Bahamas. You are in for magical memory making as you explore Nassau with your boyfriend.

Even if you don’t have any Port Adventures planned, I love your idea to walk around Nassau. There are plenty of shops and the Nassau Straw Market awaiting you!

Nassau also has a diverse and eclectic food scene. Having explored Nassau before, I'm recommending these restaurants for their excellent ratings, unique menus, and close proximity to the port:

Athena Cafe and Bar specializing in Greek and Bahamian food for the true local experience; Café Matisse for Italian dining in an upscale setting; Lukka Kairi Waterfront /Never Say Never Again Bar for its beverages and stellar waterfront views; Pirate Republic Brewing Company for craft brews accompanied by conch fritters, sliders, and wraps; and Twisted Lime Downtown for wings, sandwiches and bowls. My technique? Checking online ratings sites for rankings and photos and the individual restaurant websites to view menus.

If you’d like to combine food and sightseeing, try a guided food tour! Several tour operators have high ratings and would allow you to learn about Bahamian culture and history. Another fun idea is to get a day pass to visit one of Nassau’s hotels or resorts. Most resorts will allow you to play guest for the day for a fee and enjoy all their amenities.

Whatever you choose, I hope you have an amazing day in Nassau and an exceptional cruise.

    Happy Sailing!
