Hi, we are looking to plan a vacation to WDW over Christmas break. We can choose right after Christmas ex. Dec 26 for a week or wait a bit ex Jan 1 for a week. I know it will be busy no matter what, but which week would be a bit less crazy? Thank you!

Hello and welcome back to planDisney, Denise!

No matter which week you visit Walt Disney World Resort during the Christmas holiday season, you can not go wrong if you ask me. You are right, the crowds can get excessive during that time, but I have traveled the week before, the week of, and the week after Christmas before, and I am partial to the week before. For example, last year we visited a few days before Christmas Day, and the crowds were way more manageable than I thought they would be. It was certainly welcomed. If I had to choose from the dates you are proposing, I recommend waiting until sometime after the New Years' festivities. However, the days after Christmas will still allow you to experience many of the Christmas holiday decorations. No matter what you choose, you will create some amazing memories with your family that will last a lifetime.

We are here if you need us prior to your arrival.

    Have a magical time!
