Hello, Stacy. Your visit this summer is sure to be memorable! Let's dig right into some details, shall we?
First things first: it's important to get familiar with the pandemic-related
updates in place at Walt Disney World. These changes are making some experiences a little different right now. Character greetings are included in that category. In the past, Guests have been able to line up to meet Disney's most beloved faces, pose for photos and maybe even get an autograph. To better accommodate recommended social distancing guidelines, Guests are now treated to spontaneous
character cavalcades at Magic Kingdom,
promenades at Epcot,
motorcades at Disney's Hollywood Studios and
flotillas at Disney's Animal Kingdom. These impromptu celebrations are, well, impromptu. While you can't check a schedule to see when they'll take place, you can definitely keep your eyes and ears perked up if you want to watch the fun!
Another way to get a glimpse of the characters we all know and love is to reserve a character meal. Whether you choose breakfast at
Topolino's Terrace – Flavors of the Riviera, lunch at
Hollywood & Vine or dinner at
Garden Grill, booking one of these experiences will allow you to watch the characters engage in some silly antics around the dining room as you feast on fabulous fare right at your table.
If nighttime entertainment is what you're after, definitely consider watching the
Electrical Water Pageant sail across the Seven Seas Lagoon. It's a classic that my family really enjoys!
All of us Disney fans are hoping that the parades, fireworks and nighttime spectaculars will resume soon. In the meantime, it's a good idea to keep an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog for the latest news and updates with regard to entertainment offerings at Walt Disney World.
I'm wishing your family an unforgettable summer vacation, Stacy!
