Hi Greg!
Thanks for stopping by to be part of our world here at planDisney! Much like Ariel with her gadgets and gizmos, you'll find options aplenty when booking your Walt Disney World Resort vacation. I'm happy to help go over a few of the basics!
Greg, I would recommend starting with a visit to the
Walt Disney World Resort website, where you can price out a vacation package that includes your hotel and theme park tickets. The first step in pricing your package is to choose your hotel. I've stayed at both
Disney's All-Star Movies Resort and
Disney's All-Star Music Resort, and my favorite of the two is Movies. The resorts are very similar, so it really just comes down to your theming preference. The nods to Toy Story, 101 Dalmatians, and other classic Disney films are what really set All-Star Movies apart for me from the others. Next, you'll be able to customize your ticket purchase. If you're hoping to visit just Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disney's Magic Kingdom Park, I would recommend a 2-day Base Ticket. You'll also find add-on options for your tickets, like
park hopping and
water park visits, if you're interested. Reserving your hotel and theme park tickets together as a package, also means that you get to enjoy access to
Magical Extras, like free rounds of miniature golf and special savings at select dining locations.
Lastly, you'll have the option to add a dining plan when booking a vacation package. This is a great choice if you're hoping to get more of an "all-inclusive" price for your trip. There are two dining plan options - the
Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan and the
Disney Dining Plan. Both offer one snack/non-alcoholic beverage per person per night and a Resort-Refillable Mug for each person, good for the length of your stay. The difference between the two plans is found in the included meals. The Quick-Service plan provides each person two Quick-Service meals per night, whereas the Disney Dining Plan includes one Table-Service and one Quick-Service meal per person per night.
Greg, it's also important to note that the holiday season is full of festive fun at Walt Disney World Resort, and all of those activities can have an impact on park operating hours. Magic Kingdom Park is hosting
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party on December 3rd and will close early (6:00 PM) for this special-ticketed event. Visiting Magic Kingdom on a party day often means lower crowds, but you'll want to pay attention to the early close time when making dining reservations and keep in mind that
Happily Ever After, the nighttime fireworks, will not be available. If you want a full day in Magic Kingdom plus the chance to enjoy the fireworks, you'll probably want to visit Hollywood Studios on Tuesday and then Magic Kingdom on Wednesday.
I hope this information helps as you plan your upcoming visit! If you have any other questions, please stop by to see us again here at planDisney!
Cheers,
Kristi
