Hi Amanda! Welcome to planDisney and thank you for bringing your question to us.
You and I have something in common - we're already looking ahead to vacation plans in 2025! For me, it's half the fun of taking a vacation, so I completely understand why you'd be considering your hotel and theme park reservations for next year.
As you might have already seen, reservation availability for lodging at the three Disneyland Resort Hotels, including Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa is open through the end of December 2024 on the official Disneyland Resort website. Typically, we don't see the following year's availability become available until mid-way through the year, so I often recommend to Guests that they check back during the summer months to see the reservation availability updated. I know that can feel like a long time to wait when you've got plans to make!
Similarly, the current ticketing and theme park reservation system permits Guests to make their reservations up to 180 days in advance. So, in this case, it seems you'll be able to make your hotel reservation & ticket purchase around the same time when those availability windows are likely to be open for you later this year.
Amanda, you might already have considered this, but I love using the Vacation Packages page to book my tickets, park reservations, and hotel accommodations in the same easy transaction. It's also possible to confirm your Vacation Package with a deposit, and then make payments in whatever amount and on whatever timeline fits your family best, up until the final balance is due (typically 30 days prior to check-in). It's a nice option and comes with a few magical extras, too!
While you wait for the reservation availability window to open, may I suggest one of my favorite ways to pass the time? I love browsing the menus at dining locations around Disneyland Resort so I can begin thinking about what special dining experiences I might like to have. Of course, they can change with the season, but it's always fun to look ahead. Dining reservations can be placed up to 60 days prior to your visit. We also have some fun episodes of the planDisney podcast that are dedicated to all things Disneyland Resort and it can definitely be a fun way to dream about all the wonder and adventure awaiting you in the theme parks (and beyond)!
I hope this advice is helpful to you, Amanda! Thanks again for reaching out to planDisney and please send us any other questions that come up in the meantime. We'd love to help you plan your practically perfect vacation to the Disneyland Resort!
Magically yours,
Tishra
