Hi Team,
Welcome to planDisney!
How exciting to plan your first trip to the Walt Disney World Resort! I am happy to give a few
planning tips. The great news is that there are so many tools on the Walt Disney World website. Once you get familiar with those tools, you will be a Walt Disney World planner extraordinaire!
First, I suggest that you create a
My Disney Experience account. Once that account is created, add profiles in the
My Family and Friends List for your family members and select the option to manage all of their plans. Once you have that My Disney Experience account created, to review your account, just go to the Walt Disney World website and click on My Disney Experience (the link is on the right-hand side of the web page). From there, you can also see the My Family & Friends List.
Next, I suggest you book a vacation package with resort hotel and theme park tickets. From the
vacation package planning page, click on Book your Walt Disney World Vacation today. Although I linked the vacation package planning page above, the link to search for vacation packages is at the bottom of the Walt Disney World Resort website under Places to Stay. My family prefers resort hotels with walking paths to one or more theme parks. Our favorite resort hotels are Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney's Contemporary Resort, and Disney's BoardWalk Villas.
Once you have a vacation package booked, make sure to link it in My Disney Experience. Log into My Disney Experience, click on My Plans, scroll down, and then click on the plus sign to Add More Plans. Once you click to Add More Plans, you should see an option to
Link Reservations and Purchases. Using the confirmation you received via email when you booked the vacation package, you would link that package to your My Disney Experience account.
After linking your vacation package, you should then be able to make
Disney Park Pass system reservations. Currently, Guests need park pass reservations for each day that they have valid park admission. Given that the time of year you are planning to visit could be busy, I also highly recommend that you make
advanced dining reservations 60-days prior to arrival. On our most recent visit, our dining reservations were a life saver. On each restaurant's web page, you can View Menu to check the food options and prices. I suggest that you use those menus to estimate food costs for your trip.
As you continue to plan, be sure to review the
virtual queue process for
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance and keep an eye on the
operational updates since policies and procedures could change. Gather your forces and join our Resistance allies on Batuu as we take a stand against the First Order. We await your arrival with haste!
Good journey,
Donyell
