Boo-To-You Andie!
Welcome to planDisney! Thanks for stopping by as you start to think about a spooktacular trip to Walt Disney World Resort this October!
Halloween is one of my favorite times of the year to visit the parks! The weather is beautiful and the decorations are so festive. It sounds like you're busy making plans for
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. This special-ticketed event features trick-or-treating, Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular, and Mickey's Boo-To-You Halloween Parade. . .it's a highlight of the year! Fall is also the season of my favorite festival, the
EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival. You couldn't be picking a better time of year to visit!
With so much happening, it's also a popular time of year to visit so it's a good idea to begin your planning now. Vacation packages are available that include your room, theme park tickets, and even dining plan options! The only thing you would need to add later would be your tickets for Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party as these are sold separately. I would recommend keeping an eye on official Disney Parks social media channels and the
Disney Parks Blog for more details on ticket sales and event dates as they become available. In the past few years, Disney Parks has celebrated Halfway to Halloween in April and shared more information on fall festivities at that time.
Since you mentioned being on a budget, I'd like to share my favorite Value Resort Hotel in the Disney Resorts Collection.
Disney's All-Star Movies Resort features larger-than-life theming from fan-favorite Disney movies. If you have a room with two queen beds, one of them is a table bed that folds up during the day to give you more space in your room. Guests of value resorts still enjoy
complimentary transportation around Walt Disney World Resort,
free parking at the hotel and theme parks if you choose to drive, and
early theme park entry 30 minutes before the general public. Resort guests also have the exclusive opportunity to take advantage of the
dining plans. I'd recommend exploring both the
Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan and the
Disney Dining Plan to see what option best fits the needs of your family.
One final budgeting tip that I always like to share is using Disney Gift Cards to save for your vacation! You can purchase incrementally between now and your trip then use your gift cards to make payments towards your vacation package, purchase your special event tickets, or pay for food and souvenirs in the parks! You can even combine the value of all of your gift cards (up to $1000 each) on the
Disney Gift Cards website so you have fewer cards to manage!
Andie, here at planDisney my fellow panelists and I love helping you plan vacations that are bibbidi-bobbidi-BOOtiful! Please stop by and see us again with any other questions you have!
See ya real soon,
Kristi
