Hi Karen,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! We love celebrating birthdays at the Walt Disney World Resort and you certainly have a special one to celebrate!
First, I suggest you get a sense of the potential cost of your
vacation package. I always check prices for the year prior to our visit just to get an idea of the price and then, I keep checking to see when
special offers come out that are applicable to the dates of our visit. Be sure to check out the special offers for Canadian guests. I also suggest that you price a few different resort hotel options. Although my family prefers deluxe and deluxe villa hotels, there are also moderate and value resort hotels. Price your package with theme park tickets and with a dining plan. We typically find a dining plan to be a good value, but you will need to consider your family's dining habits. Once you have an estimated cost, then share that info with each family member if people are splitting the cost of the stay. That will give everyone time to save money for the vacation! We even have our girls save their money in a jar on the kitchen table.
Second, once you reserve your vacation package, be sure to make advanced dining reservations. Reservations are critical, especially for large parties. Although you can make reservations for larger parties online, I prefer to call 407-939-1947 to speak with someone in dining. When I traveled with 27 colleagues this summer, we enjoyed dinner at Trail's End Restaurant.
Finally, consider your November dates carefully. You may want to arrive during the holiday celebrations. Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party and The Candlelight Processional are two of my favorite experiences!
Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
Donyell
