Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is always a great choice! On a recent visit to Walt Disney World, my toddler (a big Lightning McQueen fan!) had the best time exploring the Cars section of this property and believing he just may have stepped into Radiator Springs. While there are several recreational activities and amenities to enjoy here, you are correct that there is no fitness center. Unfortunately, amenities like fitness centers are for the exclusive use of Guests registered to those resorts, and passes are not available to access fitness centers at other Disney properties. While I know this isn’t the answer you were hoping for, I’m happy to share a few options to consider during your trip.
First, if running is a part of your workout routine, you'll find a
1.38-mile jogging trail around Art of Animation. The trail will take you around the resort and alongside Hourglass Lake. There are also several open areas throughout the resort where you can stop and complete some bodyweight exercises, such as push-ups, squats, or crunches. While it's not a full gym, this can provide an opportunity to get some dedicated exercise into your day during vacation.
Another option is to consider modifying your resort choice to a stay at one of the Disney resort hotels that offers a fitness center. Currently, fitness centers are available at
Disney's Coronado Springs Resort and most Deluxe and Deluxe Villa Resorts as well. Of the Deluxe Resorts, I'd recommend checking out
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. It's one of my favorites for its delicious dining options and unique setting. Where else can you be swimming in your hotel pool one minute and then take a short walk to find yourself staring at a zebra or giraffe the next? If you are considering a change, you can navigate to
"My Plans and Tickets" on the Walt Disney World website and select "Modify Reservation" to check availability and pricing, or you can
call a Cast Member at Tickets and Hotel Reservations for assistance.
