Hi Jennifer! Welcome to planDisney!
January is a great time of year to visit the
Walt Disney World Resort. The temperatures are typically cooler and the crowds are generally lighter. If you plan on visiting
EPCOT, the
EPCOT International Festival of the Arts starts on January 14th, just in time for your stay. This festival is unlike any other and allows you to immerse yourself in the arts. You will find great performances with the DISNEY ON BROADWAY Concert Series and visually stunning culinary creations by creative Disney chefs.
In regards to your upcoming stay, I understand that traveling has been difficult recently. Walt Disney World Resort has taken every precaution possible to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19. Disney has offered some helpful information that sets expectations for
returning to a World of Magic. I would also recommend setting alerts on your mobile device to get up to the minute information regarding your flights. This has been helpful to me in the past.
Based on your travel dates, it sounds like a
2-day park ticket will be the best option. Since park reservations are required to visit any of the four theme parks, I recommend purchasing the tickets as soon as possible.
Theme park availability is constantly changing and I would be disappointed if you were unable to visit the theme parks that you want to. Your tickets are non-refundable, but they will never lose their value. If your travel is disrupted and you are unable to visit during your selected dates, you are able to change your tickets to any date in the future. The one caveat is you will be required to pay the difference if the cost of the tickets for your future visit is greater than the value you already paid. To make changes to your tickets, simply log in to your
My Disney Experience App on your mobile device or on the Walt Disney World Resort website.
I hope this helps with some peace of mind for your upcoming trip, Jennifer. Please come back to visit us with any planning questions!
