Hi I am just looking at package reservations. Does anyone know what this means? "Theme park tickets in a package may be used beginning date of check-in for a limited period of time, depending on length of ticket and length of stay." Thanks Sean

    Hi Sean,

October may seem far far away, but I am sure you will Fall into Magic at Walt Disney World Resort.

The new Theme Park Ticket expiration rules for those purchased after October 15, 2018, may seem daunting but they are actually pretty straight forward, and the Ticket Expiration Frequently Asked Question does a good job explaining it. But here is my take just in case. Basically, a ticket now has an expiration based on its length, starting with the selected start date. Say for example, you purchase a 5-day Theme Park Ticket, it will expire 8 days after the start date. So for an October 1st, 2019 arrival, you would need to use it at the latest on October 8th, 2019.

There are two exceptions. If you purchase Tickets with Park Hopper Plus Option, you get an extra day, which means, this 5-day ticket would expire on October 9th, 2019. The other exception is for Theme Park Tickets purchased as part of a Vacation Package. These will expire the later of the rules mentioned above, or your Check-Out date. So if you stay at a Disney Resort Hotel from October 1st, 2019 and your Check-Out is on October 15th, 2019, that 5-day ticket could be used for any five days until the 15th.

One last tip: don't forget all the benefits for Disney Resort Hotel Guests, such as Extra Magic Hours, Disney's Magical Express, and complimentary MagicBands. Happy planning!
